The inaugural event of the project\u00a0<\/span>\u201cMurano 3D: Innovation and Sustainability for Artistic Glass\u201d<\/strong>, funded by the Veneto Region through the\u00a0<\/span>PR Veneto ESF+ 2021\u20132027<\/strong>, was held on\u00a0<\/span>Monday, October 21st<\/strong>, at\u00a0<\/span>Palazzo Barovier&Toso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The meeting, which saw the participation of local glassworks, the University of Padua, the IUAV University of Venice, the Veneto Region, the Promovetro Consortium, and Confindustria, began with a visit to the\u00a0<\/span>Barovier&Toso glassworks showroom<\/strong>\u2014an engaging and fascinating experience for all attendees.<\/p>\n The roundtable discussion, coordinated by\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Maria Claudia Pignata<\/strong>, CEO of\u00a0<\/span>VeniSIA<\/strong>, opened with remarks from\u00a0<\/span>Terenzio Zanini<\/strong>, President of the Regional Innovation Network for Artistic Manufacturing \u2013 Euteknos. He explained that\u00a0<\/span>\u201cthe training project aims to provide the necessary skills to support the green and digital transition of artistic glassworks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Next to speak was\u00a0<\/span>Luigi Lucchetta<\/strong>, CEO of Barovier&Toso, who expressed\u00a0<\/span>\u201cheartfelt gratitude to the Veneto Region for its support during the pandemic crisis and in addressing the energy cost crisis.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Professor Paolo Colombo<\/strong>, from the University of Padua, presented the results of the\u00a0<\/span>\u201cD3Vero\u201d research project \u2013 3D printing in service of Murano artistic glass<\/strong>, which will form the core of the training activities aimed at glassworks professionals and master glassmakers. He linked these to the creative awareness of artistic artisans and the introduction of tools to enhance the value of artistic manufacturing products in target markets.<\/p>\n This gathering represented an important opportunity for reflection on the future of the\u00a0<\/span>Murano glass industry<\/strong>, allowing for an in-depth analysis of both the opportunities and challenges ahead.<\/p>\n A particularly meaningful aspect of the event was the\u00a0<\/span>active involvement of the audience<\/strong>.
