Unlike large corporations, SMEs tend to invest significantly more per employee, demonstrating a strong human connection and a business culture centered on well-being.<\/p>\n
According to the latest edition of the Welfare Index PMI<\/em>, promoted by Generali in collaboration with SME EnterPRIZE and under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Italian SMEs are accelerating the provision of corporate welfare services. Microenterprises in particular have doubled their welfare initiatives, signaling a profound cultural shift.<\/p>\n Key factors behind this success include their agile structures, direct communication, and closer human relationships between management and employees. This approach facilitates the introduction of physical and mental well-being services, with SMEs investing up to \u20ac50 per month per employee\u2014compared to just \u20ac2\u20133 invested by large companies.<\/p>\n The benefits are both tangible and measurable: companies with advanced welfare systems show above-average productivity and profitability. In 2021, the EBITDA margin (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) of SMEs with high levels of welfare rose to 11%, up from 9.4% in 2019, while companies with only basic welfare programs saw an increase of just 0.2%. Profit margins also reached 6.7%, nearly double that of companies less active in welfare.<\/p>\n These figures confirm that corporate welfare is much more than just a benefit: it is a strategic lever for economic development and for strengthening the social fabric.
