The Veneto Research, Development and Innovation Fund – Innovation Section for medium and small companies, is an initiative under the 2021–2027 ERDF Regional Programme (PR FESR) of the Veneto Region. Its purpose is to support research, development, technology transfer, and innovation activities carried out by SMEs. The main objective is to promote the creation of new products, processes, or services, or significantly improve existing ones, with particular focus on the application of advanced and digital technologies.
TARGET BENEFICIARIES
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including those operating in association (cooperatives, consortia, network contracts, temporary business groupings – ATI), as well as self-employed professionals.
ELIGIBLE INTERVENTIONS
The Fund is structured into two mutually exclusive lines:
- Line A – “Research and Development”:
Eligible costs include technical personnel involved, use of instrumental goods and equipment, use of real estate (rental or leasing fees), purchase of knowledge and patents, technical and scientific consultancy, and operating costs (flat-rate of 7%). - Line B – “Innovation”:
Eligible costs include qualified personnel made available by Research Organizations or Large Enterprises, technical and scientific consultancy (e.g. temporary managers, research institutions, suppliers registered on the Innoveneto portal), patenting and protection of intangible assets (registration, protection, and verification costs).
TYPE OF CONTRIBUTION
The support is provided in a blended form covering up to 100% of eligible expenses, as follows:
a) Non-repayable grant (up to 40%)
b) Soft loan (at least 60%), which includes:
– 70% interest-free loan (Fund Share)
– 30% subsidized-rate loan (Bank/Guarantee Institution Share)
Eligible expenditure for LINE A:
Min €100,000 – Max €250,000 – Maximum duration: 24 months.
Eligible expenditure for LINE B:
Min €50,000 – Max €150,000 – Maximum duration: 18 months.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Applications for funding may be submitted on a rolling basis, as the contributions are awarded under an open-call evaluation procedure.
