Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Extended Reality Tools Are Essential for Artistic Manufacturing to Compete on International Markets

This was the key takeaway from the conference “Digital Tools for the Internationalization of Artistic Manufacturing”, held on February 26, 2025, at t2i – the Technology Transfer and Innovation Center.

The conference was promoted by Euteknos, the Regional Innovative Network that brings together companies, professionals, and leading experts in research, education, and innovation in the field of Artistic Manufacturing.

In his opening remarks, Terenzio Zanini, President of Euteknos, emphasized “the network’s commitment to facilitating the adoption of new technologies by businesses. Artistic Manufacturing, with its invaluable cultural heritage, has a unique opportunity to benefit greatly from the integration of technological innovations such as Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality.”

Erminio Paolo Canevese from Virtualgeo S.r.l. followed, explaining how “technology enhances the value of artistic manufacturing products.” He demonstrated the functionality of various tools, such as 3D digital scanning and strategies for ethical and social marketing aimed at increasing corporate visibility.

Stefano Tamascelli, CEO of XTeam Software Solutions, a company from Rovigo with 25 years of experience in research and development in the gaming sector, showcased and allowed attendees to experience the vast potential of augmented and extended reality.

During the roundtable discussion, Giovanni Roncucci of Roncucci & Partners outlined the opportunities available to businesses looking to invest in digitalization and innovation. He was followed by Giada Bagattin from Unioncamere Veneto, who presented the services offered by Eurosportello Veneto.

A particularly compelling case study was shared by Lanfranco Arena from Prodital Leather, a company based in Vicenza that produces high-quality leather for the luxury furniture and interior design markets, highlighting its use of new technologies.

Fabio Fiorot from CNA Veneto stressed “the importance of training for the adoption of new technologies and the need for funding to support artisanal businesses aiming to innovate.”

Giulia Grassini, representing Clust-ER Create – Cultural and Creative Industries of Emilia-Romagna, highlighted “the importance of networks for artistic manufacturing enterprises, as a space for dialogue, listening to business needs, and providing guidance to seize funding opportunities for digitalization and internationalization.”

Greetings were also received from Cristiano Corazzari, Regional Councillor, who stated that “cultural and creative enterprises are a key driver for the economic and social development of the region.”

The event concluded with a networking aperitif, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and fostering collaborations. This immersive technology event facilitated meaningful exchanges between pioneering businesses, developers, investors, and fellow innovators, while also offering insights into emerging trends and real-world applications. It was a valuable opportunity for Artistic Manufacturing companies to promote growth and international expansion.
