Founded in 1710, the Academy of Belle Arti of Bologna is one of the oldest in Italy, remaining almost unique in its original location. It has always been a key reference point for art and culture, having counted among its faculty renowned masters such as Antonio Basoli, Giorgio Morandi, and Virgilio Guidi.

Initially divided into four classes — painting, sculpture, architecture, and art studies — the Academy has evolved its educational offerings by introducing first- and second-level academic diplomas, integrating modern disciplines while keeping tradition alive. Today, in addition to visual and plastic arts, it offers courses in areas such as Comics, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Cinema, Photography, and Restoration.

The Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna continues to be an incubator of creativity and innovation, training young artists ready to face the challenges of today’s job market.
