PROJECT
“SMARTLAND – Smart Destinations in the Land of Venice, Mission 2026” is part of the Regional Innovative Networks as defined by Veneto Regional Law No. 13/2014. It is a system composed of enterprises and public and private entities operating across various sectors of the economy and tourism.

The common objective of all companies within their supply chain is to update and innovate their strategic business models through the use of technology and digital development of processes and products, in order to position themselves in the national and international markets by offering innovative and contemporary tourist experiences and services.

Smartland addresses the major challenge of technological transformation that has revolutionized the tourism market. Specifically, in tourism, technological advancements have changed the way people travel, requiring businesses to innovate both their business models and the types of experiences they offer to users.

Smartland’s main focus is therefore to create new value chains by fostering interaction and dialogue among different stakeholders within interconnected business ecosystems. Smartland targets all tourism-related activities, including: accommodation and food services, art, culture, manufacturing, agri-food, travel intermediaries, transportation, rental and information services, insurance, banking, retail, event organization, ICT, and territorial promotion organizations (DMO, DMC), etc.

The project is funded by the Veneto Region – ERDF ROP 2014–2020, under the Call for Support for Research and Development Projects Implemented by Regional Innovative Networks and Industrial Districts.

PROJECT PARTNERSHIP
Some partner companies of EUTEKNOS, especially “artisan workshops,” took part in the project as they offer the opportunity to experience first-hand the ancient knowledge of Venetian master artisans through courses and visits to their workshops.

The project also involves the universities of Venice (with Ca’ Foscari as lead partner), Padua, and Verona.
